Banana Flower Cutlets
Banana flower- 1 no
Oil - 2 tbsp
Onions medium - 2 nos finely chopped
Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Green chilies - 5 nos
Curry leaves- as required
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chili powder - 1/2tsp
Potato -2 no
Salt - As reqd
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Maida - 2 tbsp
Bread crumbs - 2 cups
Oil - 2 cups
Remove some of the outer hard purple petals of banana flower till you see the soft petals and flowers. Then finely chop it and rub it with hand by adding little oil (1 or 2 teaspoon) to remove the stain threads in it. Heat little oil in a pan and cook chopped banana flower for 5 minutes by adding little salt, turmeric powder and pepper powder. Remove from fire and keep aside.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
Saute crushed ginger-garlic till it becomes soft. Now add chopped onion, green chilies and curry leaves and saute well by adding salt. When it becomes soft, add chili powder and mix well.
Now add cooked Banana Flower and mix well.
Add garam masala, chopped coriander leaves and remove from fire and allow it to cool.
Cook the potato, peel the skin and mash it.
Add the mashed potato to the Banana Flower mixture and mix it well, You can make the cutlet more tastier by adding little bread crumbs while mixing.
Mix maida with little salt and add water to make a thin batter.
Make balls out of the cutlet mix and shape it into oval shaped cutlets.
Dip the cutlets in maida batter (make sure that the batter is so thin) or beaten egg, coat it with bread crumbs and fry it in oil.
